People are walking around alive, but it doesn’t always mean that they are truly living. As we age, we start to think that the best years are behind. We need to let go of such a mind set. The best is yet to come. Life experiences only enhance our dreams.
There is more. More steps to take, more mountains to climb, more places to see, more people to encourage, more stories to share and more people to love. And more ice cream to eat!
Uncharted Waters
It takes a lot of courage to change direction especially when we fall into uncharted waters. So often we make excuses that we are not good enough or we don’t have the resources. What if you had everything to do what you wanted to do? All the skills, knowledge, right relationships, and finances would be at your finger tips. Would you take it and live your dream even if it cost you something?

What if? Ask this question, and find out what you could accomplish with just dreaming about it. What if I were prettier, I would get a husband? Not true. What if I were smarter, I would get more education and make more money? Not true. What if had unlimited resources, I would be happy. Not true. Search your heart and trust God to help you find the purpose He has for you at your present stage of life.
Get excited!
What if you talked nicely to yourself? Would you walk in the blessings of God? Would you love more? Would you do more? Attitude makes a difference.
It’s not how you plan to live differently, but that you start. (Tweet this)

It’s never too late to experience something new. People make bucket lists of things they want to accomplish by the end of life. I really never thought about it until I realized one fact. I am not getting younger! And I don’t want life to pass me by without accomplishing more. In a marathon it seems that the runner speeds towards the end of the race to get to the finish line especially if he is in the lead. Whether you get first prize or second, it doesn’t matter as long as you finish!
I’ve been working on the novel since the last blog. Since I’ve never been a very competitive person, I need to push myself to compete for the schedule to keep on track and speed up the process. Making a declaration about a project helps the momentum. After all, I don’t want to embarrass myself!

My one item on the bucket list is to finish the novel. Sure there are others, but I won’t bore you with them. Some people make lists while others live day to day without much thought about really living and pressing towards the goal.
Emotions Are Real
Sometimes I watch Judge Judy and the introduction says “The Cases Are Real and The People Are Real”. In the same way, our emotions are real. We can’t deny that disappointments bring on depression or sadness. We easily give up instead of following the path. Indifference can also cause a disconnect from others. Emotions are good indicators of how we live. We can be sad or happy in different situations. What if we always allowed our emotions to control us? Fear, for example, would derail our goal of achievement. What if we controlled our reactions to situations and people around us?
“Controlling my reactions is controlling my life.” (James Richards)
I’ll close off these ramblings with one final thought. Follow your heart before your heart controls you with sickness or apathy.
Don’t just live life, but truly embrace life to the fullest.
What if it were possible? Have you thought about a bucket list? What would your list look like? Leave a comment.
