Do you know how to make an author’s day a happy one? By writing a review immediately after you’ve read the book. I’ve done a few lately. Though I’ve read dozens of books this year, I’m posting a few here to show reviews I’ve written, all five-star because I liked them. Reading in a wide genre helps me keep focus on many topics.
Book 1
Far From Home is a Christian memoir of the author’s experience as an immigrant from India to the United States. Here’s the review I wrote on Amazon:

As an immigrant myself I truly enjoyed the author’s perspective using Biblical characters as examples. Relocating from India to United States was not easy for Mabel as homesickness surprised her. Finding a place called home in a new country brought on many heartaches but with God’s help she found peace in her new life, even after many more moves from city to city. My understanding of my faith as a citizen of heaven deepened. My experience as an outsider of trying to fit in a new culture whether into a church or into a new country, new job or any new place reminded me of my final citizenship. Highly recommend to anyone who genuinely wants to understand people and how best to relate to newcomers.
Book 2
The Brilliant Caregiver is a memoir of the author’s experience transitioning from legal secretary to caregiver of elderly people including her own mother and father.

This book serves as a memoir and a practical guide to anyone in the caregiving service. Though I’m not a caregiver, I’ve had a mother who needed care in years past. As a senior myself I’m learning tidbits about problems that us older people have and how to solve them. A lot of good information here. I would recommend this book to anyone working or living close to older people.
Book 3
Love Letter is a Christian romantic suspense novel. I read it a long ago, but didn’t add a review at the time. Now all I can truly say in one sentence, “I loved it.” See, reviews don’t need to be long.
What books have you read lately? Have you left a review? It would make the author’s day a happy one and Amazon’s ranking will post it to new readers. I highly recommend these books whether you read non-fiction or fiction.

My writing journey
By the way, Rachel Hauck is an award-winning and a New York Best Selling author of Christian Romance. I was fortunate to be under her teaching ten years ago in Florida.
Rachel worked with Susan May Warren who was the primary instructor there and helped me with my debut novel, The Other Child. She’s sold 2 million books and won all kinds of awards. We just loved the teaching from Susan and Rachel. It was a hoot! It was cold in Destin, FL.

f you like a happy ending, this is the book for you. This is the story of a young Canadian girl and her pen pal in Finland. A story that is God-driven. Not only a love story but a lesson in trusting God and in His timing for each one of us.
